AIR RACES

Your Webmaster is currently building this page. Please return from time to time to see progress. If you have information or photos regarding these events you would like to share for the site, I'd appreciate hearing about them via this FORM.

EVENTS planned for coverage on this Web site because they are related to the Davis-Monthan Airfield and its pilots or airplanes are:

1927

August 16-17, 1927: The great Trans-Pacific Dole Race.

September 23-24, 1927: The 1927 National Air Races, Spokane, WA. Although not directly related to the operations of the Davis-Monthan Airfield or our Register, the 1927 National Air Races were populated by our pilots. For example, Paul Richter placed 6th in the Free-For-All race (Event #8). This download will get you a copy of the schedule, prizes and regulations for participants in the 1927 National Air Races. NOTE: this document is not the program for attendees. This is what the racers were given to clarify rules and regulations for all the events, and to describe the prizes to be awarded. This document graciously provided from the collection of Ruth Richter-Holden, and it is the one her father read and used in 1927.
